A portion of the "Drouillard Papers" on file at the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville, TN is presented below. This document was prepared by Mary Florence Drouillard in 1895. She was a descendant of Samuel Van Leer’s son Anthony Van Leer, the owner of Cumberland Furnace in Dickson County, TN.

This document includes her research on the Waynes, Van Leers, and Culbertsons. There are a few discrepancies in her Culbertson research with that of Mrs. Ella Van Leer in the "Vanleer Papers" at Chester County Historical Society.

This is the best available source for first-hand information on the Van Leers in Tennessee.
